About us
eFLO is your preferred urology clinic that comprises a team of urology specialist that provide state-of-art urology surgery, care and services.
Our Story
Dr Ngan may have left his affiliation with universities in 1999, but he has not abandoned his passion for education and research. He is mindful that being an academician is a quality and not a title. He continues to practice medicine with an inquisitive mind and constant updates on knowledge, while taking every opportunity to share his knowledge and skill with colleagues, students, and young urologists.
Since 1999, Dr Ngan has been running a busy evidence-based urology service while developing strong programs in education and charity.
In 2008, he established eFLO to include all 3 areas of his work – urology, education, and charity.
In 2022, he started eFLO Urology, admitting Dr Raymond Kan, a young urologist, who shares a common vision.

The Water Design
The greenish tone and water flow provides a feeling of nature, depicting a quiet, clear stream flow on a bright sunny day. It moves unceasingly and flows toward a definite direction. To a casual observer, the stream is quiet and simple. At a closer look, it is full of life, energy and activity.
Medicine is part of life. It cannot escape the laws of life. We believe that life is supposed to be quiet and enjoyable. Diseases, ageing, illnesses are but small hurdles to stride. Life may be boring just because we overlook its important details. Though it may seem, life does not go in circles, it takes us to a destination.
A medical clinic is not a business. It provides guidance and support in the life journey.
Water conforms to any shape and takes little to move around. It embraces anything that it meets in a friendly manner. On the other hand, water can pass through any hurdle without any problem.
Education
Medical student attachments with doctors in private practices are a valued resource in their education. We select top students to observe our practice for consecutive periods of not less than 3 months. During their tenure, they have the opportunity to observe the delivery of medicine in real life. We emphasize knowledge in application, interpreting patient complaints, and communication with patients. We hope to show them how to practice with honesty and integrity, and how to treat with passion and excellence. Through this, we believe students will learn the true art of medicine.
We are long-term partners with Enrichment Year Programme, LKS Faculty of Medicine, University of Hong Kong and Global Physician-Leadership Stream, Chinese University of Hong Kong. If there is a student on the day of your visit, we will obtain your consent to allow the student to observe. If, however, you would prefer otherwise, we would be happy to give you more privacy.
Quality assurance, clinical audit and research
We regularly perform clinical audits to identify, assess, correct, and monitor important aspects of patient care, in order to enhance the quality of healthcare we deliver. These results are presented and discussed in peer review meetings. Last year, we completed studies in hypospadias, posterior urethral valves, bladder exstrophy, pyeloplasty, and robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy. Results showed that our care has been in line with current international standards.
We frequently review new management algorithms and surgical procedures by attending local and international medical conferences, reviewing medical literature, and meeting with vendors and developers. Prior to adopting any new procedure, we evaluate their safety, efficacy and suitability, and costs and benefits for our patients. Feel free to bring up new procedures and discuss them with us.
We also collaborate with HKUST in bioengineering research, attempting to use artificial intelligence and deep learning to identify prostate cancer.
